Monkey Forest welcomes visitors back, celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special photo collage and conservation efforts.

One hundred forty Barbary Macaques live freely within the park’s 60 acres of woodland. It is the UK’s only Barbary Macaque sanctuary.
The park unveiled a unique photo collage designed by artist Nathan Wyburn. This artwork features the likeness of Dee, the first macaque born there, and represents 20 years of conservation efforts. Visitors contributed over 500 images so community and shared memories are also a focus.
The park opened in 2005, and since then over four million people have visited. Its primary focus lies on macaque conservation, as they are an endangered species. The forest, located in North Staffordshire, provides visitors with an immersive experience.
A park representative highlighted that the collage, created with visitor photos, resembles Dee. This representation symbolizes two decades of conservation success for the macaques.
Wild Barbary Macaques now number around 8,000. Trentham Monkey Forest is committed to their preservation having supported over 100 research projects. These projects enabled Researchers to gain insights on macaque life. Furthermore, over 100 macaques have been born at the park, equaling over five generations thriving.
The park’s birthday is July 19, and celebrations are planned. Tickets will be discounted by 20% for the occasion.
