Man Charged in Southport Riots After Tragic Deaths Last Summer

Someone was charged after some violence last summer. The violence happened after three young girls died in Southport. Shay Saville, age 22, is from Tarleton, Lancashire. He was charged for the violent disorder in Southport. This occurred on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. He will be in court on Friday, March 7.

A 17-year-old from Chester also faced charges. Two more boys, ages 14 and 13, were charged too. They are from Rock Ferry. The teens appeared in Liverpool Youth Court on Tuesday, February 11. They got referral orders for the disorder. The orders last for 12 months.

A man from Southport was also arrested. He is 24 years old. His arrest occurred on Tuesday, February 11. Police suspect him of violent disorder in Southport. He was released, but the investigation continues.
