M25 in Essex closed this weekend for improvement work at Junction 28. Expect a six-mile diversion and delays.

They closed the slip road Friday night, starting at 10 PM on February 14. The closure ends Monday at 5 AM on February 17. This slip road stays shut for the whole weekend.
They do work at Junction 28. This helps make roads safer and trips smoother. The junction gets super busy; around 7,500 cars use it during the busiest times.
They set up a six-mile detour. Drivers go to the M25 clockwise at J28, then rejoin the M25 going anti-clockwise at junction 29. Just follow the signs to help you.
This work is part of a big project that could cost £170 million. They will build a new two-lane loop road. This helps traffic going to the A12 eastbound towards Brentwood.
New bridges will get built too, carrying the loop road over and under roads. It goes over the Weald Brook. They will install new signs and change the landscape.
Also, they move roads a bit. The A12 eastbound exit changes position, and the M25 anti-clockwise entry moves, too. This makes room for the loop road, and they widen the M25 anti-clockwise. This helps folks leaving for the A12 eastbound.
