An eighth man is charged after a violent brawl in Blackwood and Newbridge; he appeared in court this Tuesday.

This follows violence in Blackwood and Newbridge. Videos spread on social media February 13. Seven other men, aged 24 to 30, are also charged, and will appear in Newport Crown Court, March 11. They were all denied bail.
Detective Inspector Elaine Newbury said these reports concern communities. Quick reports helped police act fast. She added these incidents are serious, and police won’t accept this.
Newbury stated that community links keep Gwent safe. She said they worked hard for residents, and this secured the eight charges.
