Daniela Scott and Samuel Picchi, former colleagues, are opening Croccante & Co., an Italian sandwich shop in Edinburgh.

They used to be colleagues, but now they want to run things. Their new sandwich shop is called Croccante & Co. It’s opening on Lyndoch Place, by the Dean Bridge. Croccante & Co. will have many tasty items.
They plan to serve breakfasts, pastries, and smoothies. Gluten-free options and fresh coffee will also be sold. Catering will be offered. “Being Italian inspires us,” said Samuel.
“Our products and personalities will help us stand out.” They want to create a welcoming space. “Smiles will greet every customer,” Samuel explained. Italian music will play in the shop too. He feels their Italian culture will enhance the shop.
Samuel and Daniela feel confident about their new venture. They want the shop to feel like home. Customers can gather there and enjoy themselves. Croccante means crunchy, they said.
They want tasty, crunchy sandwiches like they have in Italy. The shop will be in a former newsagent location. “This is the start of something special,” said Daniela. Opening Croccante & Co. makes them happy.
She said it is more than just a cafe. This is a vibrant and realized ambition. Friendship fuels their love for Italian flavors. They want to share their food and culture. Daniela wants people to feel at home there. She hopes customers feel welcome and full. They are very excited and ready to begin. Their goal is to open Croccante & Co. by April 2025. They are ready to embark on the journey.
