Family-run Il Gusto brings authentic Italian cuisine to Woolton, Liverpool, replacing The Optimist on Allerton Road.
Il Gusto took over The Optimist’s old spot. The Optimist sold coffee and sandwiches. Il Gusto is now at 56 Allerton Road.
Il Gusto has pasta, pizza, and seafood. They also have burgers and steaks. Their goal is authentic Italian food, and they want a family-friendly vibe, too.
Another Italian spot, Botanico, is also on Allerton Road. It opened last September. There is an Italian deli named Buongiorno in Woolton, located on Woolton Street.
The owners told the ECHO they are family-run and aim to bring real Italian flavors. They use fresh, good ingredients in cooking. The owners want a warm, inviting place.
Their focus is authenticity, they shared, and they will use recipes crafted with care. They wish to create a cozy setting. Il Gusto thanked everyone who came opening night and mentioned the support they received. More food and fun are planned.
