Three Coventry leisure centres receive funding to boost sustainability via solar panels and LED lighting upgrades.
Alan Higgs Centre will get solar panels. That project is worth £250,000. Centre AT7 gets both solar panels and better lights. LED lights replace old fluorescent ones there. Their grant totals £270,000 for both projects.
Xcel Leisure Centre will also upgrade lights. LED lights are going in at Xcel too. They will improve the building’s control system. This project costs £220,000. Work started in January and ends this month.
These changes will lower energy use. The improvements make the centers sustainable. Officials say this makes Coventry greener. They want to cut carbon emissions now.
