A YouTuber made a video exploring Edinburgh. It shows an area often overlooked. The YouTuber, LETV, posted it. Fans see Gilmerton, southeast of the city.

He began at Gilmerton Station Road and walked through the streets. He hoped to chat with the locals there. This area grew quickly after World War II and was once known for mining coal and limestone.

The YouTuber said he was in Gilmerton, his first walk around Edinburgh streets. He wasn’t sure of Gilmerton’s exact boundaries but aimed to talk to people. He walked past the Abbey Lodge and also passed the Mechanic Arms pub, liking the pub’s name because his dad was a mechanic and he loves cars.

He stopped at Javits takeaway place and chatted with a friendly worker there, getting food and drink. The video gave the business promotion. His video highlighted local shops, including Gilmerton Newsagent and H&W Harkess Funeralcare. He also showed the Co-op; his clip lasted fifty minutes.

He noticed changes near Liberton High School. New construction was happening there. They seemed to be building a community campus, with what looked like more school buildings. He ended the video where he began, saying he was going back to his car. He plans to visit many Edinburgh locations.

The video got over 9,000 views online. Gilmerton residents commented and shared their thoughts. One person thanked him for the walk in Gilmerton, saying it made them emotional, having passed their wedding church. Another viewer enjoyed the video, saying he drove buses in Edinburgh for years and knew the area shown well, finding it a well made video. A third person simply stated they were from Edinburgh.
