Billy Cameron, age 25, is back in jail. He broke into a Bradford family’s home. They were all asleep at the time.

Last October, Cameron targeted a Wilsden house. Two other men joined him. Adults and kids slept inside. Cameron wore a balaclava. He tried hiding his face during the crime. CCTV footage showed him anyway.

The burglars stole many things that night. They grabbed two laptops and two handbags. A coat was taken, along with £60. They also stole Land Rover keys. The Land Rover was worth £12,000. They stole that, too. Cameron is a “third strike burglar.” He had past burglary convictions in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

The court heard Cameron’s record. He has convictions for robbery and assault. He admitted burglary and theft this time. He also handled stolen bikes back in January 2023. Their total value was over £2300.

After spotting his bike online, the owner set a trap. He posed as a buyer on Facebook and then went to Cameron’s address. Recognizing his bike, he alerted police.

The judge sentenced Cameron to 30 months for the Wilsden burglary. He got an extra four months for handling the stolen bikes.

His lawyer said Cameron is easily led. He claimed the burglary was unplanned and a rush to get quick money. He needs to stop his offending. The judge mentioned planning in the burglary and stated that Cameron’s crime was severe, at the high end for burglaries.
