The cost of living is making things tough. Many struggle to pay for food and bills now. Energy costs are high, so families face challenges. Even working people on Universal Credit struggle. This crisis impacts nearly everyone.

Several programs offer help with costs. Some give out vouchers, and discounted food also exists in some areas. The UK will soon get Cost of Living vouchers. These payments should be around £225.

The DWP is issuing them using the Household Support Fund. This is timed for February half-term.

Doncaster provides one-time payments. Residents on certain benefits can apply, including Housing Benefit and Universal Credit. Working-age adults with no kids get £75. Those with kids get more, up to £225. Pensioners can get £50 or £150. Apply by February 28th, at 5 PM.

Sheffield has a similar support fund. People can apply for help with costs. This covers food, energy and other needs. You can apply every three months.

North Yorkshire uses its website for info. It explains the Household Support Fund. You must claim e-vouchers by February 13, 2025. Food banks exist too.

Calderdale also got funds for households. If you get Council Tax help, you could get payments. Families or those with disabilities get £100. Singles or couples get £50. Apply before February 28, 2025. They also offer hardship grants of £100. Savings over £3,000 disqualify you.

Barnsley got £2.3 million for its fund. This fund lasts until March 31, 2025. They also have a pensioner support fund. This gives £200 to eligible pensioners. Automatic payments went out. Apply if you did not get a letter.
