A Network Rail worker got hurt near Port Glasgow. A crane crashed onto the tracks, and the worker was taken to the hospital.

The accident happened Saturday, March 15, after 8:30 PM at an engineering site. Police, firefighters, and paramedics responded quickly.

Reports say a crane lifted part of the track, and something went wrong. The worker’s current condition is unknown. They were replacing a rail junction where trains travel to Gourock or Wemyss Bay.

This work caused disruption, and The Daily Record provided details. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire trucks to help at the scene quickly.

The fire service got a call at 8:37 PM to Glenburn Street, Port Glasgow, about a problem with the crane lifting part of the track. They found one injured person.

A Network Rail spokesperson spoke about the incident, noting it happened at an engineering site near Port Glasgow. They started a full investigation and cannot discuss details now. Staff will get support during this tough time.
