Julia Wandel, also known as Julia Wandelt, is 23 years old and hails from Lubin, Poland. Following her arrest, she was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today, February 21. In connection with the same investigation, another individual was also arrested at the airport.
Police reports indicate that two women were taken into custody following the airport arrests on Wednesday night. One is a 23-year-old from Poland, while the other is a 60-year-old from Wales. Both are suspected of stalking, involving serious alarm and distress.
Two of the stalking charges specify dates between May 2 and February 15, spanning last year and this year. Another charge references a period from January 3 to April 21 last year, and the final charge cites November 27 to December 29 last year.
The woman from Wales has been released on bail by the police.
Madeleine McCann disappeared on May 3, 2007, at the age of three, from a holiday apartment in Portugal. She was from Rothley, and her disappearance remains unsolved.
