A woman felt sick after watching a dog attack a baby swan. The dog was an XL Bully, she reported. Louise, 51, walked near the St Helens canal. She heard a loud noise and saw the attack.

Louise saw the XL Bully shaking the swan. The owner pulled the dog away, then left. The injured swan swam away. Louise contacted a wildlife rescue group.

They found the cygnet hurt behind a pub. Vets had to euthanize it because its injuries existed. The XL Bully was on a leash but had no muzzle.

Louise worried about kids and other animals. She wondered why someone would let their dog do that and could not believe they left. Louise took photos showing the attack’s aftermath.

Bloody feathers scattered on the ground. WWR Wings rescues injured wildlife. A volunteer said they find hurt swans daily; pets or deliberate attacks often cause the injuries.

Jay stated they do not comprehend the attacks. Volunteers spend time and money helping. These animals live here. Swans bring joy, like ducks and geese. Nature deserves respect. They existed long before humans.

The group wants dogs on leashes near wildlife. Dogs might attack at any moment. Parks offer dog areas sometimes. Taking a dog off-leash near swans is risky. Why take that risk, Jay wondered?
