A woman disguised as a nurse injected a Winford House resident, prompting a police probe of the suspicious incident.

The daughter described the event, stating a blonde woman in a nurse outfit entered her mum’s apartment around 8 AM on Tuesday, February 25. She gained entry using a code, key fob, or by being let in.
The suspect claimed she was there to administer insulin. When the resident questioned her unfamiliarity, the ‘nurse’ stated she had replaced someone and needed to give another shot first, citing “information from above,” according to the daughter.
The resident, trusting the uniform, allowed her to proceed. Later that morning, the actual diabetic nurse arrived and was informed that insulin had already been given. However, records showed no other nurse had been assigned.
Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident, and Thirteen’s director has expressed deep concern, stating they are providing full support to those involved. The daughter is deeply worried and seeks to identify the woman involved.
The mum is able to identify the impersonator in photos, and the family is appealing for information or CCTV footage. The daughter hopes it was a simple mistake, perhaps a mix-up with work schedules, and that there were no malicious intentions behind it. Tests came back clear, confirming the mum is unharmed.
A police spokesperson confirmed officers visited Winford House following the report on February 25. Enquiries are currently ongoing, and officers are working closely in the investigation.
David Ripley from Thirteen emphasized their priority of safety and expressed deep concern regarding this case. He stated they are providing assistance, cooperating with the police, and reminding residents to be vigilant, urging them to report any unusual activity to the team, who are available to address any concerns.
