A pregnant woman got really mad and went to a pub. She had a hammer and hit another woman. She thought her boyfriend was cheating on her.

Kirsty Allen, a mother of two, heard her boyfriend had been unfaithful. This news ignited such anger that she grabbed a hammer. Fueled by rage, Allen went to the pub to seek revenge on the woman she suspected.

HullLive reported that Allen, 31, was sentenced to jail. She admitted to causing grievous bodily harm to the woman. Allen also confessed to possessing the hammer as a weapon on April 5 of the previous year.

Emma Handley explained that Allen discovered the affair while she was pregnant. Allen confronted the woman about it on March 13, 2024. During that initial encounter, she did not issue any threats.

However, on April 5, the woman went to a pub, the Fiveways Hotel. Allen, armed with a hammer and accompanied by another woman, also went to the same location.

Allen walked past a child playing pool before approaching the other woman, who was sitting with her back turned. Without warning, Allen struck the woman’s face with the hammer.

The woman screamed in pain from the impact. Allen shouted, “I’ll kill you.” Allen’s companion attempted to intervene and stop her from further violence. Undeterred, Allen swung the hammer several more times.

Bystanders managed to pull Allen out of the pub. A family fled the scene in fear. The injured woman was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment. Doctors determined that she had suffered a fractured cheekbone and a laceration.

Two days following the incident, the woman contacted the police to report the assault. Allen was arrested on April 28. During questioning, she declined to answer any questions posed by the authorities.

The victim stated that the attack had a profound impact on her. She described it as a completely unexpected and unprovoked assault. Moreover, she claimed to have no understanding of the reasons behind Allen’s rage.

She now lives in constant fear of a repeat attack. She is afraid to be alone outside. The woman also worries about the safety of her family. The trauma has caused a return of nervous habits.

Records showed that Allen had a history of prior offenses. Between 2008 and 2010, she committed 11 crimes. These included an assault she committed as a younger woman.

Chaynee Hodgetts revealed that Allen’s boyfriend had engaged in infidelity while Allen was pregnant. Their daughter is now 15 months old. Allen also has an 11-year-old son.

Miss Hodgetts reported that Allen has expressed remorse for her actions. While the woman sustained facial injuries, she did not require surgery. Allen acknowledged the foolishness of bringing the hammer, according to Miss Hodgetts.

Judge Mark Bury noted that Allen discovered the affair shortly before launching the attack.

Allen swung the hammer directly at the woman’s head. The CCTV footage of the assault was deeply disturbing. Judge Bury deemed incarceration necessary due to the severity of the crime.

At the time of sentencing, Allen had been released on bail. The judge ultimately sentenced Allen to 18 months imprisonment.
