Donna Green, 55, jailed for blackmailing a vulnerable, older man. She demanded money and threatened violence.

Donna lived in Tewkesbury before. She made the man run errands constantly at all hours and threatened him with violence again. Phone records showed Green demanding payments for bills, food, and phone contracts.
This happened between March and October 2023. He gave her over £5,500 total. A support worker noticed strange activity, with large sums leaving his account monthly. He was in debt and risked homelessness because he wasn’t paying rent.
People noticed he was getting used and asked him about it directly. He said he gave a friend £800 each month. She would stop visiting if he stopped paying.
Police arrested Green in October 2023. She gave officers a prepared statement and they released her on bail. Police needed to download data from both phones.
The phones showed threatening messages and Green demanded money often. She had a second interview in 2024. They charged her with blackmail soon after and she pleaded guilty later to the charges.
Green said they were close friends and claimed she helped him with his money. She supposedly ran errands for him and paid his bills. On February 14, a judge sentenced her to 16 months in prison. Also, she received a seven-year order that prevents her from contacting the man or entering his street.
PC Bundock talked about the case. He said police worked together with Bromford Housing to protect a vulnerable man. Green used threats to get what she wanted, and he hopes this shows how seriously they treat these crimes.
