A woman in her twenties was assaulted early Tuesday in Galway. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and footage.

The woman, who is in her twenties, was taken to the hospital. Fortunately, her injuries aren’t life-threatening. The police are appealing to the public for assistance, urging any witnesses to come forward.
Police are interested in hearing from anyone who may have information. They are particularly interested in any footage, including dash-cam and helmet cam recordings, from the Monivea Road and Ballybane More areas, specifically between 5:15 am and 5:45 am.

In separate news, police conducted raids targeting an organized crime group. These raids took place in the western and midland areas, encompassing a total of six properties.
During the raids, police seized weapons, phones, and vehicles. Four men were arrested as part of the operation; three are in their twenties, and one is in his thirties.
The men are currently being held in Garda stations under Section 4 of an Act. Police believe the group is involved in a range of criminal activities, including gun-related offenses, drug trafficking, and assaults, primarily affecting east Galway and the surrounding region.
The properties raided included six homes across Galway, Roscommon, Westmeath, and Offaly. Among the weapons seized were a machete, knives, a cattle prod, and a taser.
