A woman died after an SUV hit pedestrians in Tralee this morning. Two other people were also hurt. The accident occurred before 10 AM.

The woman was in her 40s. Medics helped her at the scene and she was transported to the hospital by helicopter, where she sadly died. Two other women went to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The driver, who was in his 80s, also received treatment at the hospital for what appear to be minor injuries. The SUV hit three pedestrians on the N86 Canal Road.

Police shut down the area, and investigators are now examining the scene. Police want anyone with dash-cam video to contact Tralee Garda Station.
