A woman was seriously injured in an M2 crash and airlifted to a London hospital. The road was closed for hours.

It took place on Sunday, February 16th, around 4:30 PM. The crash was between Junction 5 and Junction 6. That’s near Sittingbourne, Maidstone, and Faversham.
The police, firefighters, and paramedics all came quickly. They learned a car hit a barrier on the road. Everyone worked hard to help.
The highway closed going towards the coast. This was between Junctions 5 and 6. A man also received medical care for his injuries there.
The police said her injuries were serious, but that they should not threaten her life. The man went to a local hospital, while she went to a London hospital by air.
The road going east closed for a while. This let emergency crews help and remove the car. One lane opened around 8:45 PM, but the other lane stayed closed for repairs and spill cleanup.
Drivers had long delays on the M2. Part of the motorway shut that night. The highway fully reopened at 1:26 AM on Monday between Junctions 5 and 6.
