Victoria Way in Woking remains closed since January due to storm damage, causing traffic issues. Repairs ongoing.

The road closure is causing major traffic jams, forcing drivers to use other routes. Ann-Marie Barker says to expect delays to last into March, though the building developers are making progress on fixing it.
This Hilton Hotel issue has led to lots of closures: Victoria Way shut six times since 2021. Falling panels from the hotel triggered the initial closure, and it has been closed since January 26th.
Barker said the weather helped speed up repairs, as crews worked seven days a week to fix the building. The developer finished the temporary fix for two sides, and she hopes traffic has improved a bit.
Some local leaders want to ban the developer, believing the work is subpar. The company initially skipped a council meeting, but now, one of them will attend a meeting next March.
Barker said stakeholders talked to cladding experts to discuss finding a permanent solution. She will share details as soon as she knows more, with reopening Victoria Way remaining the top priority.
