A local group presented a petition to the council with over 300 signatures. They want something done about the underpasses, as this problem has been ongoing for about ten years.
It’s dark and often flooded. There’s dog waste and a terrible smell, they said. Sometimes youths yell at people walking by. Residents want the lighting fixed ASAP.
The council lady said she knows about the problem. She agreed they attract bad behavior and wants to make them safer. She is working on similar underpass issues, too.
The police said they know about the drug dealing. They have increased patrols recently, and officers have arrested a few people. They need the public’s help reporting problems.
