Harassment case against Benjamin Walker, former fire chief, dropped after Crown Prosecution Service review.

Brown died at home in January last year while they were investigating his job qualifications. The CPS stated no realistic chance existed for conviction and discontinued Walker’s case last week.
Walker spoke to BirminghamLive after the decision, stating it took two years for common sense to prevail. He wanted the best for the public and for firefighters, he stated.
Walker feels there were no winners and cited a lack of accountability. Walker described relentless, malicious prosecution and believes public safety suffered.
Walker is now studying law at university. He aims to defend others in the future and wants to prevent similar nightmares.
The CPS sends thoughts to Brown’s family. They must review all cases constantly and new police information changed their view. They informed Brown’s family about the decision and also discussed it with them directly.
Police investigated the harassment allegations and then passed everything to the CPS. The CPS initially decided to charge Walker, but later notified police the case won’t proceed.
