The funeral procession started around noon, leaving from Co-op Funeralcare in Livingston. A horse-drawn carriage led the way as they traveled to Adambrae Cemetery together.
Two white horses pulled the carriage, adorned with blue and yellow feathers. A family friend, Melanie Wheeldon, organized a fundraiser to help with the costs of Hope’s Day. The fundraiser exceeded its goal of £2000, ultimately raising over £10,000 from generous people.
Melanie’s statement described Hope as a loving girl with a vibrant personality and kind spirit. She especially loved animals. Her life ended too soon, leaving a void that her family and friends deeply feel.
Police are treating Hope’s death as murder, while her father’s death is not considered suspicious. Hope’s aunt, Tess, gave a statement, saying Hope’s death will never make sense and that the family’s pain is beyond words. The world feels empty without Hope now.
