The station improvements started after a pandemic delay. They will install a new footbridge. Lifts will give access to the platforms. Ramps will help people board trains, too.

Summer 2026 is the expected finish date. The station will stay open while they work. This project adds to London’s step-free stations.

The mayor wants half of Tube stations accessible. The station is on the Central line’s West Ruislip branch. The platform will get a bit narrower during construction.

Temporary fencing will reduce the space. Staff plan to help people stay safe. You’ll find them on the platform during busy times. TfL is paying for all of this work.

Public toilets will close in April 2025. The station will have new accessible toilets later. Leyton Tube station also gets step-free access. That project should finish by spring 2027.

Ten stations were considered for upgrades in 2023. They are Alperton, Arnos Grove, and Burnt Oak. Eastcote, Finchley Road, and Northolt also made the list. The last four are North Acton, Rayners Lane, West Hampstead, and White City. TfL will soon decide which ones get designed.
