A Welsh charity rescued 117 dogs from Ireland, facing abandonment and euthanasia, seeking homes in Wales.

The dogs traveled in special vans. It was a bumpy ride back to Wales. The CEO’s name is Sylvia Van Atta. She felt sad needing to help so many dogs but was happy people offered their help.
The dogs came from different places. Some owners died, others were abandoned or from breeders. Some faced being put to sleep and there were also unsold puppies needing homes.
The rescue cost almost eight thousand pounds. The dogs needed rabies shots and also needed flea and worm treatments. Many dogs will need to be neutered before they can find homes.
The rescue felt hard for the staff, but Sylvia said it was a good day. They saved many dogs and she believes the dogs will find homes. Thirty volunteers helped that day.
They took the dogs out and made them comfy. People bathed and groomed them. The dogs wait to find great owners as being in cages is like prison for them.
The rescue hopes they find homes fast because kennels cannot replace human company. The dogs want to be with their people and do not want to be in a cage.
The dogs are now at Many Tears. They will soon be ready for adoption. You can visit their website and learn how to donate.
