Many unclaimed estates in Wales, listed by the UK government, await potential heirs. Claim if you have Welsh ancestry.

Almost every area in Wales holds such estates. Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan have the most, with 58 unclaimed estates. Gwynedd comes next, with a total of 25. Caerphilly, Ceredigion, and Torfaen only have one each.
If someone dies with no will or family, the Crown gets the estate. The Treasury then manages everything.
You have twelve years to claim an estate, starting once the Crown knows it is unclaimed. To claim, show your family tree. It must prove how you connect to that person.
Spouses and kids inherit first; grandkids are next. Parents, siblings, and half-siblings also come before others. Grandparents proceed aunts and uncles. Half-aunts and half-uncles also qualify. Below is the list by county as of February 5, 2025.
