The Waverley paddle steamer will return to North Wales in 2025, including a new “Captain’s Choice” cruise.

Last year, it sailed from Anglesey for the first time in a century. Holyhead is a departure point again, and they added an evening cruise from Holyhead called “Captain’s Choice.” It will dock at Llandudno Pier seven times.
Captain McCall likes the North Wales coast and says the coastline has stunning seascapes. He is happy more people can see it.
Cruises from Holyhead show the Anglesey coast. People will see views of Moelfre, then arrive in Llandudno. Cruises from Llandudno go past the Great Orme and around Puffin Island, where people can enjoy the coastline and wildlife.
One trip goes to the River Mersey and sails to Seacombe near Liverpool. A coach returns to Llandudno following this. There are seven sailings total.
On May 29, there is a morning sailing from Holyhead that arrives in Llandudno at 12:30 pm. Then, The Waverley sails near the Great Orme and Puffin Island. That evening, it departs for the River Mersey.
On May 30, there is another cruise to the Great Orme and Puffin Island, which leaves from Llandudno. On May 31, it cruises the Anglesey coast and visits the Great Orme, starting from Llandudno.
On June 1, you can see the Great Orme and Puffin Island starting from Llandudno. There is also the Captain’s Choice cruise from Holyhead to Llandudno, which passes Moelfre and Puffin Island too.
Paul Williams, who manages Llandudno Pier, is happy to have the Waverley back and hopes for good weather again. It is great to see it dock.
Passengers can see the steam engine and hear the telegraph ring. They can visit the engine room and watch the paddles turn.
All cruises have food, including snacks, tea, and cake. You can also get a hot meal. There are period lounges and even a souvenir shop.
The Waverley is in Glasgow now, and they are fixing it up at a cost of over £1 million. The sailings begin in Scotland before it heads to Holyhead.
