Since 2023, five people died at Warwick House. Sadly, four of those deaths involved drugs. Now, anyone caught inside faces jail time; it could be up to 50 weeks.
The order aims to stop crime there. Also, it hopes to end public nuisance issues. It covers any trouble linked to the property. This includes problems near Bond Gate.
Police Inspector Ryan Walker talked about it. He said they still worry about Warwick House’s safety. They want to work with the landlord to make needed improvements.
Some past residents caused problems and were involved in town center issues. Some even committed crimes inside Warwick House. Many residents needed extra help, having mental health and medical needs. The Inspector confirmed they will get support and new housing.
