A Walsall man avoided jail with a suspended sentence for stealing BMWs and participating in garage thefts.

Odowd was involved in burglaries and stole two BMW cars in Herefordshire. He took a BMW 2 series and a BMW X5, using car keys to steal them.
He was linked to a Ford Transit van used in burglaries that targeted garages and sheds. Odowd admitted to his crimes.
He pleaded guilty to burglary and admitted conspiracy charges involving stealing cars and committing burglaries. The court sentenced him on March 7 at Worcester Crown Court after an investigation by West Mercia Police.
The police considered other offenses, including dangerous driving, driving without a license, and driving without insurance. The BMWs were stolen last December in Ledbury.
Police tried to stop the van in July, as it had links to earlier burglaries. The driver did not stop for police, but officers eventually stopped the van. The people in the van ran away, but forensic evidence linked Odowd to the van.
A detective spoke after the case, stating that burglary is a serious crime and people deserve to feel safe at home. Police thanked the victims for their help and emphasized that they will not tolerate this crime and will prosecute offenders in court.
