A 19-year-old was sentenced to 12 months for a violent attack involving biting, stabbing, and strangulation.

He yelled obscenities at the police there and told them to stay away. Moore threatened more violence if they entered, mentioning he had already hurt her. Plus, he threatened to use a dog on an officer.
More officers arrived to assist with the situation. Moore, age 19, was then arrested for his actions. The victim finally came downstairs after and when asked if she was okay, she simply said, “No,” indicating to her injuries.
She described the assault in detail to the police. She said Moore hit, kicked, and bit her body. Moreover, she told them he strangled her and stabbed her with two different kitchen knives.
The woman sustained several visible injuries, including bruising around her eye and scratches on her head. Red bruises marked her neck area too. She had a hand scratch and a puncture wound on her thigh. She seemed upset, shocked, and in tears.
While police placed Moore in the van, he was abusive. Later, he told them to relay an apology, saying he was sorry for how he acted, but claimed he didn’t care at some point.
Moore had prior convictions and was under a suspended sentence at the time. He admitted to strangulation and assault. The court sentenced him to 12 months in a young offenders institution.
The judge called Moore’s actions terrifying, including strangling and stabbing her. Moore’s lawyer offered an explanation in court, stating Moore faced child contact stress. Instead of proper channels, he drank and took drugs.
He claimed this wasn’t an excuse, but an explanation. Moore felt deep shame for his violent actions and never thought he would hit a woman. Moore wants to prevent this from happening again and wants to be a good father in the future.
