Terrence Merrin has a long criminal record. He stole with two other people from Aldi. They took £183 worth of goods. Merrin filled bags with meat, and afterward, they left via a fire escape.

Staff did not see the theft happen initially, but CCTV footage showed what occurred. Police recognized Merrin and arrested him.

Merrin admitted to shop theft in court. He must pay a £40 fine and £61.70 compensation. Court costs are £85 plus a £16 surcharge.

Paul Coulson said the theft happened around 4:30 pm on October 11th of last year. The men took meat and then left without paying. Staff reviewed CCTV footage later to discover the crime.

Merrin was last in court last May for drug possession. Lewis Pearson spoke for Merrin, explaining that Merrin needed money to pay off debts.

He has avoided shoplifting recently. Merrin also had face surgery.
