A stolen road roller was used to vandalize Cowdenbeath FC’s pitch, causing significant damage and prompting a police inquiry.

The gang broke into the stadium on Wednesday, March 5, and drove the roller onto the field. Cowdenbeath officials reported significant damage. The vandals also crashed the roller into a building, causing further destruction.
The team shared video of the incident, criticizing the vandals’ actions and highlighting the financial and operational difficulties it creates. The video shows extensive damage to the pitch surface.
The video captures the roller entering the field. Initially, one person jumps off and runs away before returning to the pitch. Someone then hands them a phone, and they begin filming the others on the road roller.
The roller drove all over the pitch, creating immediate and visible damage. Club officials are determined to find those responsible as volunteer staff repaired the pitch in preparation for the weekend match against Broxburn Athletic.
The club reported that their stadium was vandalized on Wednesday, March 5, at night. Intruders entered the ground around 9 pm and drove a road roller onto the field, causing extensive damage before crashing into a building.
The vandals filmed the incident and it can be seen online. The club is reviewing CCTV footage to help identify the vandals and asks anyone with information to contact them or Police Scotland.
Such acts create difficulties for the club and negatively impact the community. The club appreciates any help to identify those responsible and ensure appropriate action is taken. Police Scotland has been asked to comment.
