Mr. Banaris’ car collided with a BMW as he left Beechcroft Avenue on Tuesday, February 11. Paramedics tried to help, but he sadly died at the scene.
The two men turned themselves in at a police station later. They were arrested in connection with the crash and subsequently released on bail, pending further investigation.
Mr. Banaris’ family shared a tribute, noting his love for DIY, gardening, and family. He worked hard for 35 years at a steel factory, which even closed in his honor.
He was a devoted husband and father, looking forward to his second grandchild. He always helped others, showing great generosity and compassion. The mosque held a significant place in his life.
Mr. Banaris worked at Brookeson Material Handling Ltd for over 30 years, where he was known as Ben. He was proud of his Kashmiri background, visiting Kashmir yearly to see his elderly mother. The Kashmir community loved him, and he enjoyed cricket. Co-workers will greatly miss him.
