Jemma Hart, 45, found dead at home in Swindon after a month. Suicide ruled as cause of death, dogs found at the scene.

Concerned individuals contacted the police after Jemma stopped walking her dogs and didn’t open a text message. Someone also heard a dog whimpering inside her house in Swindon. On January 29, 2024, police entered her house and found Jemma dead in the living room.
Tragically, one of her two dachshunds had also died, and the other was in bad shape. Her son said she loved walking her dogs, describing them as meaning everything to her. She got one dog, Frankie, in 2022 and another called Millie a year later.
The official cause of death was suicide, a report stated. Her body had injuries inflicted by the dogs after she died. Jemma had stopped working due to her health issues, struggling with physical pain and insomnia.
Police found no signs of anything suspicious during their investigation. Jemma had been in contact with the mental health team in the past, though not recently. The coroner, Ian Singleton, noted neighbors hadn’t seen her since Christmas. She lived alone, and had been estranged from her family.
In summary, Jemma Hart died by suicide in her living room, with one of her dogs also dead beside her. Jemma had some injuries, caused by her surviving dog after she died, which was visibly upset.
