Trafford Roads Gridlocked After Huge Car Meet Near Manchester Airport

Hey, guess what happened! Lots of people gathered near Trafford Palazzo. They brought their cars for an unsanctioned meetup. This was on Thursday night. The parking lot and a main road got jammed.

Traffic was awful near Manchester Airport too. It seems the large crowd first met at the Palazzo car park. People revved their engines loudly. Later, Wilmslow Road also got really busy. This was around 9:30 PM.

People traveled towards tunnels beneath the airport runway. Social media had videos of the event. The videos showed many folks filming with phones. Vehicles then drove towards the airport area.

This meetup happened soon after police announced a crackdown. They’re targeting illegal car meets. Recent events occurred in Wilmslow, Macclesfield, and Alderley Edge. High-powered cars were drag racing there.

Residents are worried about the noise and bad parking. Cars were even on sidewalks. Police said they have zero tolerance for these meets. Illegal car meets often involve dangerous driving. It is often quite unsocial too.
