Trafford council tax is set to rise by 7.49%, with green bin collection fees increasing by £45 annually.

Trafford asked for special financial help, and the Department of Housing approved the increase. Trafford’s budget issues grew recently, with the budget gap going from £9.8 million to £12 million.
Council members will soon vote on final budget plans; the meeting is now set for March 26. Allotment rents may also rise by 30%, affecting 1,500 plots across Trafford. Approval seems likely, given Trafford’s money troubles.
Full allotment plots will cost £138.80, up from £104, while half plots will be £69.40, instead of £52. People over 60 still get a 50% discount. Marriage fees at two locations, Sale Town Hall and Waterside Arts Centre, are also changing.
Weekday ceremonies will cost £196.50, a slight increase, while Saturday morning weddings will cost £276.50. Saturday afternoon prices rise to £366.50. Sunday and holiday weddings at Waterside will be £541.50.
Marriage costs at other approved places also go up; a Saturday wedding will be £476.50. Monday to Thursday weddings remain cheaper at £426.50. These prices are for ceremonies until 3:30 PM.
