Inquest halted for Badreldin Osama Badreldien, found dead near St Cuthbert Mayne School, pending further police inquiry.

The inquest heard details of his discovery and intended to conclude how he died. However, the coroner stopped the proceedings at the family’s request, as they wanted more police information and were unhappy with the investigation’s scope.
Dog walkers initially called the police after finding a body near some hedges close to a fence. One person noticed legs across the fence and shouted for help. Another dog walker arrived, and they both observed no movement, concluding the person seemed dead.
A police officer arrived and climbed the six-foot school fence, confirming his death. Police identified him as Mr. Badreldien. Their investigation concluded with no findings of foul play. The inquest was informed of his medical history, including cocaine use in 2022, but this was deemed inconsequential to the death’s circumstances.
The post-mortem examination revealed high levels of cocaine and alcohol in his blood, along with the presence of methadone. Family members, including his mother and sisters, attended the inquest, seeking more answers about his death.
He went out one night and never returned home. His partner and daughter are grieving. They held a memorial service at St James Church. The coroner has postponed the hearing, and a new date is yet to be set.
