Throckley Primary students created heartfelt letters promoting their town. Displayed at Meadow Hill, they celebrate local community spirit.

Meadow Hill, a housing site built by Barratt Homes, commissioned the letters. The children wrote about why they like Throckley, celebrating Valentine’s Day in a unique way.
The heart-shaped and colorful letters shared favorite things about Throckley. One child liked the football pitches and Sainsbury’s, while another loved Throckley Dene, a local beauty spot.
One letter mentioned health facilities, noting the pharmacy and care homes. The park, groomers, and dene were also praised. The writer also highlighted the amazing school.
Another student expressed their love for Throckley Primary, noting that the school always helps the community. One child wrote that Throckley has nice people and hoped people would buy houses there.
The letters are displayed at Meadow Hill’s sales office for February. Lynsey Giblin, the head teacher, said the kids greatly enjoyed the project, and that it connected to their school’s value of caring.
She also said Throckley is a great community. She was happy to celebrate this with the kids, as did Barratt Homes.
Natalie Donnelly, sales manager at Meadow Hill, enjoyed working with the students. The project taught her team what kids liked about living there.
The sales office displays the love letters for everyone to enjoy this February. The kids did a fantastic job showcasing the nice parts of Throckley.
Meadow Hill offers three to four bedroom homes, along with an array of community facilities. These include a bowling green, allotments, tennis courts, and a football pitch. Club rooms are also available for rent.
