The popular pub by the Leeds and Liverpool Canal reopens after a renovation with a new look and menu.

The Windmill has new owners. They are opening its doors on Thursday, February 27. The pub had a two-month update, and Ed Nikaj manages The Windmill. He feels excited about the relaunch and has worked there twelve years.
Ed said The Windmill loves its community role. They want people to see the pub’s new look, as it had a big renovation. This will improve the experience for customers. Many people shared great interest and want to see the changes.
The pub kept what people love. Staff, dishes, and its core remain. They also restored old features there. The pub is welcoming everyone back again and aims to maintain its charm for locals. Current staff and popular items will stay.
The Windmill will have a new breakfast menu, starting at 9 a.m. People can look out for new events too, including afternoon teas and bottomless brunches. The pub sits by the canal, and walkers and anglers visit it often.
It offers cozy log fires when it’s cold. The Windmill is near Parbold Hill, which offers Pennines views. The Windmill has been in Parbold a long time. It opened in 1794; the canal opening created the spot.
Farmers used it to deposit grain at the mill. Locals enjoyed ale, food, and chats there. They also loved a warm fire at The Windmill. The tradition goes on still today, as The Mikhail Group bought it last year.
They said they would transform the pub. They planned a rear extension and wanted a new timber fence. The Windmill got planning permission, and the extension finishes by May’s end. You can book stays from February 27, 2025.
