Vets open Kibbles Veterinary in Teesside, promising affordable pet care after leaving firms with ‘greedy’ price hikes.

Joanne Buller, a vet nurse, started the business. Richard Buller, a manager, also helped form it. Vet care assistant Gillian McNaughton joined too. Vets Tasos Xeidakis and Steven Gibbs are also founders. They aimed to provide local affordable vet care.
Richard Buller said they left large companies. They felt those companies raised prices too much. He thinks high costs hurt pets and owners. The team wants to change how things work.
He said veterinary care had lost its way and got too focused on money. Pets and their owners suffered because of this. The team decided to start Kibbles to fix that.
They want vet care to be affordable for everyone and believe in clear pricing before any procedure. Compassion and care are also very important. Many good vets are out there, but big companies control their pricing. He said customers are tired of this system.
The clinic was assessed soon after opening and The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons approved it. It became a training site for nurses. The vets called this a major success.
Richard said the community responded well to them. He is excited about what’s ahead and wants to reach as many pets as possible. They might offer 24-hour care later on.
He described their Hemlington clinic as excellent, having modern equipment and great staff. There is also plenty of room to grow. The community’s welcome has been wonderful. They’ve gotten great reviews already. He is optimistic for the future.
