A teen claims he was paid £20 to attack a girl with a sword near Hessle, East Yorkshire, leaving her with ten stab wounds.

The boy cannot be named due to legal rules. He used a “fearsome” sword and caused “dreadful” injuries. The girl was very lucky to survive, sustaining ten stab wounds.
The attack happened near Hessle, East Yorkshire. Seven teens were camping in a field located near a wooded area off the A63 road; this information was shared in court.
He was fourteen at the time of the incident, and is now fifteen. He denies attempted murder, but admits to wounding her and possessing the sword illegally.
David Lamb KC, the prosecutor, said the teen attacked her with a Kortada sword, similar to a Samurai sword. The girl is now fourteen.
Mr. Lamb stated the boy stabbed her ten times, with wounds to her chest, back, neck, and arms. She almost died from these injuries.
The attack happened November 1, 2024. The boy left her alone and bleeding, frightened in the dark woods. He admitted to the attack, saying a sixteen-year-old girl paid him £20 to do it. He claimed the girls argued that night.
Mr. Lamb said this was the motive; yet, he’d never mentioned this before, and it differs from his police statement.
Mr. Lamb stated the boy admits attacking her, using the sword, and causing her injuries. He says he didn’t act in defense and admits intending serious harm, but denies trying to kill her.
Mr. Lamb said his intent is clear. He cited the sword’s size and use, her injuries and location. He pinned her down and left her, and Mr. Lamb called it a “web of deceit.”
The attack occurred Halloween night, October 31. Another girl, now sixteen, had the sword and showed it to the group.
Mr. Lamb spoke about the stabbed girl and how she felt unsafe during the camping trip, anxious in unknown places, and the sword made her more uneasy. The group reached the campsite near the Humber Bridge after walking through woods behind a hotel.
They set up tents and lit a campfire. The girl with the sword began shouting, and called the victim names.
The victim tried to leave and asked a boy for directions. The defendant stopped them, saying he’d take her back alone.
Mr. Lamb said he planned this to isolate her. He led her to a hidden area with the sword concealed in his pants.
She saw him adjust his jacket and pull out the sword. She stood up, ran, and was very scared.
She yelled at him to leave her alone, but he chased after her instead. He pushed her down, making her vulnerable as she lay there.
She begged him to stop and pleaded with him to go away. The defendant ignored her.
He stood above her, pushed her to the ground, crouched down, and spoke. He said, “I’m sorry. I have to do this.” Then, he attacked her with the sword.
He stabbed her while pinning her down, and she had bruises on her neck. This proved he restrained her during the attack.
The girl had ten stab wounds to her back, chest, stomach, neck, head, knee, and arm. Mr. Lamb declared the attack sustained and planned, using a weapon with intent to kill.
The girl ran for help. Motorists stopped and called 999. She told police what happened, and named the boy who attacked her.
Police found the tents. The defendant said the sword belonged to another girl’s father and that he did not know who he supposedly attacked. He claimed only their group was present.
Mr. Lamb called this a false story. The girl went to the hospital and was then moved to another one in critical care.
She was very lucky to survive.
The trial continues.
