Mourners gathered to remember teen Harvey Willgoose, who died after a school stabbing.

The stabbing occurred at All Saints Catholic High School. This Sheffield school became a scene of tragedy. Harvey was rushed to the hospital quickly, but sadly, he died in the ambulance on February 3rd.
Harvey’s funeral was at Sheffield Cathedral. The service included the team’s chant, “Greasy Chip Butty.” His coffin had an image of Bramall Lane, Sheffield United’s home stadium.
Mourners gathered to say goodbye, and the service was streamed outside the cathedral. A private burial followed at City Road Cemetery. People wore photos of Harvey, and some carried “Lives not Knives” signs.
Reverend Abigail Thompson spoke at the service. She said the city would grieve for Harvey and promised comfort and hope to those present. The entire city felt the profound loss.
The wake was at Beighton Miners Welfare Club. Harvey’s mother, Caroline, volunteers there, and she invited everyone to celebrate his short life. The community gathered to support the family.
Harvey’s parents vowed to fight knife crime later. Caroline described the funeral plans earlier, wanting to honor her son’s passion. Mark and Caroline grieve deeply for their child. His family described him as loving and funny, saying they were heartbroken by his death. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend, and they asked for privacy while they grieved.
A mass was held at St Joseph’s. People marched to Bramall Lane afterward to honor Harvey, and Caroline and Mark joined the march. Fans clapped in the 15th minute of a match. Harvey’s picture appeared on the stadium screens, honoring him during the game, and both opposing fans joined in.
A petition aims to stop knife crime in schools. Eileen Roche and Rebecca Phillips started it, as their children attend Harvey’s school.
A 15-year-old faces charges related to the stabbing, including murder and weapon possession. He will appear in court on April 28, and a trial is set for June 30.
