A teen was arrested for wielding a knife, and a woman was attacked in separate Cork city incidents.

A teen was arrested on Patrick’s Street around 11:30 AM after people saw him acting dangerously with a knife. Police took the knife from him, and he was let go but faces youth diversion.
While dealing with that incident, police received another call about someone being attacked with a bladed weapon on the Southside of the city. Police closed part of Evergreen Road around 9:30 AM after getting reports of an attack at a house there.
A young woman in her 20s was hurt, but the injuries were not deadly. Paramedics helped her at first and then took her to the hospital. Armed police and a helicopter helped with this incident. Hours later, police arrested a man in his 40s who was hiding behind a store on the same street.
Police took him to a city station. They also blocked off the area around the house, and experts are checking the scene for evidence. Police continue to investigate everything.
A police speaker confirmed the teen’s arrest happened on Patrick Street around 11:30 AM today. He was released pending the youth program referral, and police are still investigating this incident.
