A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed on Tuesday in Clapham. Police investigation is ongoing in South London.

Police are searching the area, including Stockwell Underground Station, for clues. As of now, they haven’t arrested anyone. Photos show police guarding the scene, and forensic teams are also looking for evidence.
Superintendent Cameron spoke about the shooting, calling it a shocking incident that will distress the community. He expressed his thoughts are with the boy’s family during this very hard time.
Police were called at 3:21 PM about the shooting on Paradise Road in Clapham. Paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance tried to save the boy, but sadly, he died at the scene on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Local officers are gathering evidence by checking CCTV and talking to witnesses to find out what happened. Specialist investigators will soon join them to work hard to find those responsible.
The boy was shot in the daytime on Paradise Road, in the heart of the Studley Estate. A helicopter landed in Larkhall Park nearby, and an officer ran from the park with a blood kit. He was pronounced dead at the scene, but police have not shared his name yet as they are telling his family first.
One local resident, shocked by the shooting, said the area is usually nice. They added that while Stockwell has some crime, like phone theft, it is generally friendly, and it is terrible to think about what his family is experiencing.
Another resident is horrified by the violence and is thinking about leaving London, with some even considering leaving the UK. They find the killings depressing and sad, picturing the poor boy dying and his family’s pain.
Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, said his thoughts are with the boy’s family and mourns with friends in Stockwell. He believes the violence has no place in London and is talking with police leaders who are investigating and will increase patrols. Khan urges people to share anything they know.
A separate incident happened today where a 12-year-old was stabbed at a school on Adelaide Road in Swiss Cottage. Police got a report of a fight and found the boy with stab wounds, and paramedics helped him.
London has seen a rise in violent crime, with the police recording many violent crimes in 2023/24, higher than the previous year. While crimes like burglary decreased, knife crime increased in 2023/24.
