New social homes will be launched by the Taoiseach for individuals facing homelessness in North Cork. Focus Ireland spearheaded this housing project.

The charity bought old Dairygold offices in 2020. They remodeled the Thomas David Street building. Focus Ireland says this combats homelessness and provides secure housing solutions.
Martin will join Focus Ireland CEO Pat Dennigen, Fergal O’Dwyer and council members Friday. They will unveil many new needed units.
The three-story townhouses are almost two centuries old. They transformed these protected buildings greatly. There are two studio apartments inside, along with six one-bedroom and five two-bedroom units.
Meitheal Architects Group redesigned the offices. The building once housed Dairygold’s Agri Division offices and has been made ready for Focus Ireland’s team.
Each building’s outside look remains the same. Residents can park their cars to the building’s rear.
In 2023, Martin opened apartments with Focus Ireland on Grand Parade. It was a housing project for people in need, with the aim to help them get back on their feet.
The vacant site had derelict commercial rooms before, and it was transformed into sixteen flats. This development provides roofs for those who need it.
Focus Housing Association houses almost 1,400 families. Charity founder Sr Stanislaus Kennedy started Focus Ireland in 1985. She said current homelessness is the worst since then.
Over five thousand households need social housing in Cork, according to Cork Simon. The Housing Department’s numbers show a crisis with eight hundred thirty-three people depending on emergency housing in both Cork and Kerry.
