Christopher Farell, a prolific offender, received a 12-month sentence for a series of thefts across Swansea stores.

Farell faced sentencing in Swansea Crown Court for several thefts. He already had a suspended sentence, the first being for garden center theft.
On August 10, he stole Jack Daniel’s from Tesco. Farell filled a trolley with whiskey bottles and checked for people nearby before taking the items to a toilet and leaving.
He went to TKMaxx on November 15 and stole t-shirts, stuffing them in a backpack. A month later, he returned to TKMaxx and stole more clothes in the same manner; the stolen clothes were worth £629.93.
Farell stole from Sainsbury’s on January 2, taking crisps, whiskey, and vodka totaling £632.20 in value. Security detained him, and he confessed to carrying pliers.
Farell had a long criminal record with 31 prior convictions, including 106 offenses, seventy-nine of which were theft related. He received a suspended sentence in June for stealing over £600 from a garden center.
His lawyer stated that Farell was drug-free for ten years between 2012 and 2022, during which he had a stable life. His brother recently passed away while he was in custody, and Farell supposedly changed his views.
The judge called Farell a “prolific offender” who stole to buy heroin and crack cocaine. His crimes followed a pattern, resulting in a 12-month prison sentence: eight months for the thefts and four months for breaching his earlier sentence.
