A new fast ferry between Swansea and South West England is being explored. Feedback is wanted for a green passenger ferry.

A company called Ocean Prime is looking into it. They want a fast, green ferry for passengers. Both Ocean Prime and Swansea Council want to hear from you.
The council leader mentioned a hydrogen ferry in 2022. Council money is paying for Ocean’s research. People can visit Ocean’s website. You can share opinions and vote “yes,” “no,” or “maybe.”
The ferry could cut traffic and may also boost local tourism a lot. Swansea wants to be a “net zero” city. Jobs and links to England could improve. The council leader wants your feedback.
Ocean’s founder, Dave Sampson, wants to know if it’s wanted. The ferry should be good, cheap, and eco-friendly. It helps the UK get cleaner ships. He hopes research can support companies.
Ocean’s research will take a year. They haven’t said where in England it could go. It could carry bikes, cars, and trucks. Special cargo may be an option too.
The ferry would use electric batteries and fuels. Renewable energy would charge batteries. Fuels might be green hydrogen or biofuel. They might use wind power too.
Ocean Prime also wants a reliable, all-year schedule. They will design the ferry if people support it. They hope a British shipyard makes it.
Boats already sailed to Ilfracombe for fun. A ferry called Severn Link was planned before. However, it never happened back then.
Council members asked about the hydrogen ferry. Five councilors requested an update in writing. The council leader’s reply is in a report. It will be given to the full council.
The council still wants to explore it. They worked with Ocean Prime for a year. Consultation is starting soon, he responded.
