Injured swan found in Kilmarnock’s Kay Park had to be euthanised following severe injuries, including a broken wing.

The Scottish SPCA got a call on February 20th. Someone saw the swan injured in Kay Park, Kilmarnock. The swan was on the island in the pond. Firefighters helped with the rescue the next morning, using special equipment.
The swan’s injuries were too severe. Rescuers euthanized him. The swan was male and had lived at Kay Park with a partner for years, making the island their home. Nobody knows how the swan got injured.

They helped the SSPCA rescue the swan from the water. The SSPCA then took care of the swan, and afterwards, the fire crew left, ensuring the area remained safe.
