A swan in Ayrshire got hurt badly. Rescuers found a broken wing plus other serious injuries. Sadly, they had to put the swan to sleep.

The Scottish SPCA got a call on February 20th. Someone saw the swan injured in Kay Park, Kilmarnock. The swan was on the island in the pond. Firefighters helped with the rescue the next morning, using special equipment.

The swan’s injuries were too severe. Rescuers euthanized him. The swan was male and had lived at Kay Park with a partner for years, making the island their home. Nobody knows how the swan got injured.

The SPCA got a call late at night about an injured swan on the island, making a rescue attempt difficult. An officer went back in the morning and called the fire service because the swan’s bones were severely broken. It was in pain and distress, and they euthanized it because of the extensive injuries.

The fire service got a call on February 21st about a swan with a broken wing near Kay Park Crescent. Two fire trucks arrived with specialized tools. They helped the SSPCA rescue the swan from the water. The SSPCA then took care of the swan, and afterwards, the fire crew left, ensuring the area remained safe.
