A student was hospitalized with face injuries after an assault at Jesmond Park Academy in Newcastle. Police are investigating.
The fight occurred last Thursday at Jesmond Park Academy during lunchtime. Emergency services arrived around 1:30 PM. The fight took place in a school bathroom.
One boy was hurt by two other boys. Another student who tried to help got attacked too and suffered injuries to his face. An ambulance took him to the hospital.
Police received a report about the fight at a school on Jesmond Park West. One boy had a sore head after two boys assaulted him, and the helper got assaulted too. He had injuries on his face and went to the hospital for treatment before being released.
Police continue to investigate the reports, and their inquiries are still underway. The school principal says they are taking this serious incident seriously but will not discuss individual cases to protect the privacy of those involved, as the police are investigating the matter.
The incident got handled quickly as student safety is the school’s priority, and they will provide support during this time. An ambulance went to Jesmond Park West shortly after 1 PM on Thursday and took one patient to the hospital.
