A woman was found dead in Stonnall. A 53-year-old man from Lichfield is arrested on suspicion of murder.

West Midlands Ambulance Service called police, who arrived at Main Street around 7:20 AM on Tuesday, February 25. Police arrested a 53-year-old man from Lichfield, suspected of murder, and he is currently in custody.
A witness reported seeing many emergency vehicles, including ambulances and police cars, with forensics teams also arriving at the scene. Paramedics remained in the ambulances.
The ambulance service responded to an incident at a home on Main Street, receiving the call at 7:23 AM. Two ambulances and a paramedic officer were dispatched to the scene quickly.
Upon arrival, they found a woman who, despite their efforts, could not be saved and was declared dead at the location. Police are providing support to her family with the assistance of specialist officers.
Police stated that a man was arrested on suspicion of murdering the woman after they were called around 7:50 AM, following the ambulance service’s report of her death at a property on Main Street.
The arrested man, who is 53 years old and from Lichfield, remains in police custody as a suspect in the murder. The police continue to support the woman’s family, with specialist officers providing assistance.
